The University of  Kashan Observatory
The University of  Kashan's Observatory was founded in the year 2000, coincident with the memorial day of Ghiyasedin Jamshid Kashani(Alkashi), the prominent Iranian astronomer and mathematician.
It is located on mountains overlooking the beautiful city of Niyasar, 30 km east of Kashan. It started operating in 2006 equipped with 16 inches telescope under its dome and than 10 smaller telescopes and a variety of other astronomical equipment. It is one of educational observatories in Iran whose main purpose is to promote astronomy knowledge of astronomy among students and the public. The main activities of this observatory have been photometry of variable stars and spectroscopy of fast-rotating stars.
